The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Giveaway

Help save music in public schools, and learn to play the ocarina… with Zelda and Link!

Summer is here and parents are looking for ways to keep their kids entertained, engaged and learning. Many families will enroll children in music lessons over the summer, but there are other economical ways to introduce kids to the joy of playing an instrument.

Look, we know that not everyone has the time, resources or interest to devote to private instruction and buying or renting a violin, cello or piano for their kids. For these families, the ocarina is a great choice!

And guess what? It’s the main instrument behind the popular video game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

Are you a Zelda fan? If so, you’ll know that everyone’s raving about the exciting release of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS. And what better way to celebrate the new game than a giveaway, right?

Thanks to STL Ocarina, we have one Special Edition Zelda 12 Hole Tenor Ocarina ($74 value) to giveaway our readers! Entry details below.

Save Music in Schools

STL Ocarina is doing great things. Check out this video to find out about their special assembly program to help educate public school kids about basic musical concepts, unique instruments, world music, and more. Cast your vote now! (You get one each day in June).

About STL Ocarina: Young people all over the world have become interested in the ocarina, a pocket-sized pottery wind instrument, thanks to the popular Legend of Zelda game. An outgrowth of the St. Louis School of Music, STL Ocarina produces ocarinas for all ages and skill levels, from kids' models shaped like fish, whales and dolphins starting at $10 to professional models starting under $100 and made of Purple Clay, a rare natural mineral found only in the region of Yixing, China. Heather Scott has mastered the ocarina as well as the flute, and is currently earning her master's degree in flute performance while serving as a worldwide ambassador for the ocarina across the Web. -I like that it mimics the mother’s breast entirely–not just the nipple– from shapes & texture to movement, storage and delivery of milk.

I'd love to see them go to the school I went to in Ohio, washington local district schools, they had a great music program but it has deteriorated so much over the years, the orchestra has to practice 10 minutes a day in the boiler room in the junior highschool, it's horrible.
